There’s a fine line between strategic growth and self-serving ambition.
When we make decisions—whether it’s pricing, hiring, or even how we delegate—are we truly thinking about what’s best for the business and the people we serve? Or are we chasing what feels impressive, what we want to happen, or what aligns with an outcome we’ve already decided on?
I’ve seen business owners hire too fast because they wanted to step into the CEO role—before the business was ready.
I’ve seen leaders delegate too soon without a real plan—because they wanted to be free of a process, not because the team was set up for success.
And I’ve seen people (myself included) make decisions based on where they want to be, not where they actually are right now.
Growth requires ambition. But ambition without alignment leads to wasted time, lost deals, and unnecessary chaos.
So, the next time you make a big business decision, ask yourself:
➡️ Am I making this choice because it truly serves the business?
➡️ Or am I doing it because it fits the vision I want to be true—even if reality isn’t there yet?
The best business moves aren’t always the flashiest. They’re the ones rooted in what’s actually needed today.
