I used to resent my kids…

Lead Well. Work Simply. Scale Smart.

I used to resent my kids.
Not because I didn’t love being their mom, but because I felt like they were holding me back from my business.

Networking breakfasts? Off the table because of daycare drop-offs.
Evening happy hours? Impossible with dinner, bath time, and bedtime routines that left me too drained to be productive.

I’d catch myself envying the business owners who didn’t have those constraints, who seemed free to hustle at all hours.

Over time, though, God softened my heart and opened my eyes. I began to see my children as the blessings they are, not barriers to my ambitions.

But if we're being honest: gratitude alone wasn’t enough.

I had to change how I worked to truly honor both my role as a mom and my role as a business owner.

Today, I’m running a successful business without crazy work hours and I still get time to be fully present with my kid (without the resentment).

Hustling hard and always being “on” might feel like the price of success, but it’s really a trap that keeps your business (and you) from growing. In just the past 30 days, I’ve heard CEOs share that they’re craving more time with family, facing medical issues from stress and burnout, or even starting to resent their business because everything depends on them.

In this Quickcast episode, I’m breaking down why hustling harder won’t fix the problem—and what you should be doing instead.

3 Questions to Ask Yourself if This Is Worth Watching:

  • Am I sacrificing family time, health, or sanity just to keep the business running?
  • Do I feel like everything will fall apart if I’m not involved?
  • Is my team more dependent on me than I want them to be?

If you answered “yes” to even one of these, this episode is for you. Watch now and take the first step toward building a business that doesn’t run you.
